The Academy since its inception has offered a variety of educational programs, including seminars, conferences, and study tours (see summary of programs section of Academy web site for specific listing of all of the Academy programs conducted in past years). Most of the programs have been conducted in the United States, but two seminars for American judges have been held in Europe, and the Academy has co-sponsored a large conference in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Following many of the programs, participants have been asked to fill out an evaluation form in which they can give and overall rating for the program, rate individual sessions and speakers, and comment on their educational experience.
For rating the program as a whole and for individual sessions, the Academy uses a rating system of 4 to 1, with 4 being the highest rating and 1 being the lowest. In almost every instance, the participants in these educational programs have given an overall rating for the program of either a 4 or 3, indicating a high level of satisfaction among the participants.
The following are some of the comments made by program participants in the evaluation forms they completed or elsewhere about the educational program they attended:
The seminar has been conducted on an extremely high level by competent speakers. It well combined theoretical lectures with the practical experience of the speakers. |

The seminar served as a bridge to friendship and enabled us to exchange our knowledge. The Sino-American views on IP protection are getting uniform. The seminar has far reaching significance in this regard. |

Excellent organization. Good choice of subjects. The multi-faceted presentation of the subjects has helped us understand the issues and factors in the successful and less-than-successful implementation of information technology in the justice system. |

The speakers selected are very specialized, particularly those who are experienced attorneys and judges. The subject matter chosen very much suited our needs. The seminar addressed what we are concerned about. The organizers made very successful arrangements for the seminar and showed great hospitality. |

I liked the seminar because of the combination of field trips and classrooms. It helped me to better understand the role of the judge in the transitional period [in a country's life] and, as a decision maker, the judge's involvement in insuring the quality of all aspects that relate to his work and the image of authority he represents. |
